MOVEMBER FUNDRAISING

Run It By Your Doctor

Run it by your doctor

Join the Run It By Your Doctor Challenge from Movember, Merck Canada and Strava. Run 10K, get your Head-to-Nuts Checklist, and start the conversation.

Runners know how to train. We track miles, monitor performance and maintain our stamina. Our health deserves the same attention — especially when it comes to the silent threats.

This October and November, Movember, Merck Canada and Strava are challenging you to run 10K and put your health on the map.

The Run It By Your Doctor Challenge is a 10K running challenge with something extra: the Head-to-Nuts Checklist to help you start an important conversation with your doctor or other healthcare provider.

Signup for the 10k and receive the Checklist featuring health topics that can be easy to put off, helping you make the most of your next healthcare visit.

The Run It By Your Doctor Challenge is a 10k running challenge with a twist: complete the distance and download your Head-to-Nuts Checklist.

Your Head-to-Nuts Checklist

Think of it as a checklist for the health stuff that can be easy to put off.

The Checklist covers:

Mental health
Everyone has things going on in their lives that can make them feel worried or down. Understand the signs to look for in yourself or a friend who might be struggling, and know where to turn for support.

HPV-related head and neck cancer
Understand how HPV can contribute to certain head and neck cancers and learn about ways to help reduce your risk.

Testicular cancer
Learn how to do a simple testicular self-check and what to look out for.

Prostate cancer
Know your risk and what you should discuss with your doctor.

Download your Head-To-Nuts Checklist and take it with you to your next healthcare touchpoint. It's a simple way to turn a checklist into a conversation — and a conversation into action.

From running to fundraising, the Run It By Your Doctor Challenge is one more way to get men talking about their health, and acting on it.

Ready to run it by your doctor?

There are two ways to join the Run It By Your Doctor Challenge:

1. Sign up through Movember

2. Sign up through Strava

Once you're in, it's time to run, get moving and start fundraising. Every dollar raised through the Challenge on Mo.com will go to Movember, supporting programs focused on men's mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Running? We can all do that.

This October and November, go beyond the finish line. Download the Head-to-Nuts Checklist, ask the questions, and run it by your doctor.

Because when it comes to your health, knowing where you stand is always worth the extra mile.

Oh... and one more thing 👀

Keep an eye out for a Dollar Match to give our Mo Bros and Sisters an extra boost. Merck Canada will be matching $50 donations with an additional $50 until the match pot runs out.

Terms and conditions will be shared when the match goes live — so keep your eyes peeled on Movember channels! 🥸💸

This Challenge is brought to you by Merck Canada and Movember, in partnership with Strava. Our partnership with Merck does not constitute an endorsement of any specific pharmaceutical product, treatment or service. Movember supports all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual. Health disparities exist, with LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing higher rates of mental health issues and discrimination, often exacerbated by stigma in healthcare. We advocate for the right to self-identify, protection from discrimination, inclusive education, and rights-affirming healthcare, ensuring everyone can lead a healthy, dignified life.

Movember acknowledge the many and varied experiences of people navigating their health and wellbeing, those who support them and those who came before us whose stories, struggles and strength have shaped what we know. We recognise those who have generously shared their knowledge and wisdom with us and honour those we have lost too soon. Their knowledge, insight and expertise are essential to improving the design, delivery and evaluation of the work that we do and their experiences remind us why this work matters.
