Our impact in AOTEAROA, NEW ZEALAND
Movember has partnered with NZR’s Mind. Set. Engage team to deliver a cultural adaptation of the Ahead of the Game program to school rugby teams (tāne & kōhine) across Aotearoa. Developed with support from NZR and its partners, the program has been amended to be culturally relevant, ensuring the workshop structure, content and materials provide the necessary environment and principles to uphold the cultural safety of participants.
BUILDING MENTAL HEALTH LITERACY IN YOUNG PLAYERS
New Zealand Rugby is one of New Zealand’s largest sports organizations. Through their Mental Health and Wellbeing team, they use rugby as a vehicle to connect with rugby communities around Aotearoa with a goal to support a cultural shift that sees more people seeking and receiving help. Mind. Set. Engage coordinate the delivery of Ahead of the Game in Aotearoa to youth players (12-18) and the support networks around them, ensuring that rugby communities are mentally healthy and resilient.
