Movember champions mental fitness at the World Boxing Championships

Movember teams up with the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool to promote youth mental health and resilience.

Movember is proud to be the Official Mental Fitness Partner of the World Boxing Championships 2025, taking place in Liverpool from the 4th until 14th September 2025. Together, we’re championing the importance of resilience - for athletes, fans and communities.

Resilience beyond boxing

In partnership with England Boxing and GB Boxing, Movember is rolling out the Ahead of the Game program to more than 2,700 young people, parents and coaches across Liverpool and Merseyside.

The program helps young athletes and their support networks to:

  • Talk openly about mental health
  • Recognise when help is needed
  • Build the resilience to take on life’s challenges

More than 30,000 people across the UK have already benefited. Now, with the backing of England Boxing, we’re excited to reach even more clubs and communities.

Why it matters

According to NHS England, half of all mental health conditions start by age 14. That makes early support critical.

That’s where boxing plays a key role. As a sport that builds discipline, courage and self-belief, it’s also a powerful platform to promote mental fitness.

England Boxing on the partnership

Louise Vidor, Club and Community Manager for England Boxing, shares:

“Looking after your mental health is essential in boxing, yet the spotlight is often on developing physical strengths. This partnership is about giving young boxers the mental strength to face whatever life throws at them.”

Be part of the movement

The World Boxing Championships isn’t just about world-class competition. It’s about standing together to fight for something greater: the mental health of the next generation.

Join us in Liverpool this September to witness history in the ring - and support a movement that’s transforming the way we think about mental fitness.

Movember supports all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual. Health disparities exist, with LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing higher rates of mental health issues and discrimination, often exacerbated by stigma in healthcare. We advocate for the right to self-identify, protection from discrimination, inclusive education, and rights-affirming healthcare, ensuring everyone can lead a healthy, dignified life.

Movember acknowledge the many and varied experiences of people navigating their health and wellbeing, those who support them and those who came before us whose stories, struggles and strength have shaped what we know. We recognise those who have generously shared their knowledge and wisdom with us and honour those we have lost too soon. Their knowledge, insight and expertise are essential to improving the design, delivery and evaluation of the work that we do and their experiences remind us why this work matters.
