The Dominion Construction team celebrate their fundraising efforts
Dominion Constructors raised over $50,000 or Movember, bringing people together and backing a cause that matters. Becoming the top Movember Team in New Zealand for 2024.
Dominion Constructors went big last Movember. After taking a breather in 2023, the team came back swinging, knowing just how important mental health is in the construction industry. Led by Brett Russell, Team Constructache capped off the hairy season with a “Shave the Date BBQ”, farewelling their Mo’s together in style. Mo Sisters were right there too, recognised with gift packs for all their mahi.
The final tally? NZ$52,301. Enough to crown Dominion the Top Movember Team in New Zealand for 2024.
Dominion first jumped on board with Movember back in 2010, and since then it’s become part of the fabric of the business. It’s about raising funds, yes, but also about bringing people together and backing a cause that matters.
Unmatched hustle
The 2024 campaign had a small but mighty committee at the helm, led by Rebecca Paterson. Weekly updates rolled out on Viva Engage, the leaderboard kept the banter alive, and fundraising links were everywhere across email signatures to LinkedIn. Team leaders were even armed with laminated QR codes for events and networking. The crew made full use of Movember’s online tools and checked in regularly with the Mo team for ideas and support.
Keeping it fresh and fun
Growing a moustache isn’t the only way to support Movember. Thanks to Mo Your Own Way, plenty of the crew ran, walked, and cycled, while Mo Sisters tackled their own challenges. It all added up to a campaign that not only raised serious coin but also created space for connection, conversations, and a shared goal across the business.

Alongside doing Movember, Dominion continues to back wellbeing in a big way – with a wellbeing committee, the My Everyday Wellbeing platform, and initiatives like Project FIT 25, a six-week fitness challenge. They’re also big supporters of Mates in Construction, EAP services, and a culture where people feel safe to speak up.
Dominion’s always finding fresh ways to give back, including supporting the Auckland Rescue Helicopter and Duffy Books in Homes to Keystone Trust, Gumboot Friday, and Loud Shirt Day.
