"Share your Mo-ment" hits Grafton street: The Moustache is calling

Watch now

We placed a Movember phone booth in Grafton street, Ireland and invited people to share their stories on men's mental health.

This hairy season, we took to the streets of Dublin, Grafton Street, to be exact, where the humble telephone box got a makeover, and the moustache was calling.

We invited people across Ireland to step in, pick up the phone, and share their stories about men’s health. From hilarious confessions to emotional, heartfelt moments, we captured stories that were raw, real, and, most importantly, meaningful.

Want to see it for yourself? Check out the video wrap-up, and feel the power of the stories that are changing the conversation around men’s health this Movember.

Giving Ireland a voice: Sharing Mo-ments that matter

This wasn’t just a fun street activation, it was about giving real people the chance to speak up. The Share Your Mo-ment telephone box gave everyone from everyday lads to supportive friends and family the platform to talk about men’s health. Some shared personal battles with cancer, others talked about mental health struggles, and a few gave us stories that had us laughing out loud.

We wanted to show that no matter what your story is, it’s part of the bigger picture, and by sharing it, you’re helping to raise awareness and make a real impact for men across Ireland.

Movember’s impact in Ireland: Changing men’s health for the better

Movember is more than just a moustache, it’s a movement. In Ireland, we’re making strides in three key areas:

  • Prostate Cancer: We’re funding critical research and supporting men through early detection and treatment.
  • Testicular Cancer: With testicular cancer affecting young men the most, we’re raising awareness and encouraging regular self-checks.
  • Mental Health & Suicide Prevention: We’re tackling the stigma around men’s mental health, providing support, and funding programs to reduce male suicide rates.

We’ve already made a huge difference in these areas, but with the voices of Ireland behind us, we know we can do even more to change the future of men’s health.

Movember supports all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual. Health disparities exist, with LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing higher rates of mental health issues and discrimination, often exacerbated by stigma in healthcare. We advocate for the right to self-identify, protection from discrimination, inclusive education, and rights-affirming healthcare, ensuring everyone can lead a healthy, dignified life.

Movember acknowledge the many and varied experiences of people navigating their health and wellbeing, those who support them and those who came before us whose stories, struggles and strength have shaped what we know. We recognise those who have generously shared their knowledge and wisdom with us and honour those we have lost too soon. Their knowledge, insight and expertise are essential to improving the design, delivery and evaluation of the work that we do and their experiences remind us why this work matters.
