Movember Virtual Health Talks

Health Talk: Prostate Cancer

Movember is here. And with you by our side, we’re ready to make Movember 2020 the most impactful yet. To do that, we’re excited to share a new way to have fun, do good and spark important conversations around men’s health.

For example, not everyone knows that, globally, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day. That nearly 10 million men around the world are living with or beyond prostate cancer. Or that testicular cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in young men.

WHAT IS A MOVEMBER VIRTUAL HEALTH TALK?

Movember created the virtual health talk series to help create more awareness around the health issues men face and how they can take action for their health.

Hosted by Mo Bro, Sam Wilson, each 3-minute episodes is a deep-dive into:

1. Mental health and suicide prevention

2. Prostate Cancer

3. Testicular Cancer

Movember supports all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual. Health disparities exist, with LGBTQIA+ individuals experiencing higher rates of mental health issues and discrimination, often exacerbated by stigma in healthcare. We advocate for the right to self-identify, protection from discrimination, inclusive education, and rights-affirming healthcare, ensuring everyone can lead a healthy, dignified life.

Movember acknowledge the many and varied experiences of people navigating their health and wellbeing, those who support them and those who came before us whose stories, struggles and strength have shaped what we know. We recognise those who have generously shared their knowledge and wisdom with us and honour those we have lost too soon. Their knowledge, insight and expertise are essential to improving the design, delivery and evaluation of the work that we do and their experiences remind us why this work matters.

Movember Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
