Game on: Movember teams up with the NBL

The Movember crew gathers at centre court after the Movember takeover of Melbourne United’s clash with the New Zealand Breakers at John Cain Arena.
Movember has a new teammate. The National Basketball League (NBL) has signed us up and we’re taking men’s health to the court. The game plan is simple: get men and boys talking, taking action and checking in on their mates.
The partnership burst to life on 2 November with a full Movember takeover of Melbourne United v New Zealand Breakers at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena.
A packed house, a huge atmosphere and a Mo-ment Against Silence that reminded every fan in the building that staying connected and open is one of the best plays you can make for your health.
Then the Mo took over.

Mo Ambassador Tom Wilson laced up custom Mo kicks, more than 500 Movember socks, caps and pins landed in the hands of fans and ESPN and Foxtel beamed all the action to viewers.
Through the NBL, Movember will reach basketball communities across Australia and New Zealand, from sold-out arenas to Saturday morning local games.
“Basketball gets young men and boys moving, keeps them connected and surrounds them with a community that checks in when something’s not right,” said Kieran Ryan, Movember Director of Partnerships.
“Together with the NBL, we’re on a mission to keep young people and their families in the game for longer, better equipped to handle whatever comes their way on and off the court.”

The big screen calls on fans to make a Growmitment and sign up at movember.com.
The NBL is just as fired up.
Chief Commercial Officer Samantha Green said basketball “brings people together like few things do”, making it the perfect place to start conversations that matter.
