My motivation

RC has been a part of our lives for a long time. The cars, the racing, the history, and most importantly, the people we've met along the way.

Last year, Travis "Peanut" Amezcua built a car for charity and asked DragonPunch RC to be a part of it. Before that race weekend was even over, we were already talking about what we could do together the following year and how we could make it bigger and more meaningful.

This summer, we found our reason.

The RC community is made up largely of guys. Guys we've raced with, built cars with, competed against, helped in the pits, argued setups with, laughed with, and formed friendships with that have lasted for years.

But guys aren't always very good at talking about the things that matter most.

Men are too often willing to ignore their own health, put off seeing a doctor, or keep what they're going through to themselves. Movember is working to change that by supporting men's mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

That's something that hits home for us, and something we believe fits naturally with our community.

So this year we're combining something we love with something that matters.

Peanut will build, test, and race a very special DragonPunch RC '91 Worlds Long Arm RC10 at the 2026 Team Associated Vintage Off-Road Championships in Las Vegas. We'll share the entire journey along the way, from the first parts going on the car to the final lap in Vegas.

And when the racing is over, this exact car will have one more stop to make. It will be going to a new home as part of the Peanut and the Dragon fundraising sweepstakes supporting Movember.

Along the way, we've recruited a few awesome sponsors from within the RC community who believe in what we're doing and wanted to be a part of it. Their support is helping us turn what started as an idea between a couple of RC guys into something much bigger.

We're calling it Peanut and the Dragon.

If this project gets a few more guys talking about their health, gets someone to schedule the appointment they've been putting off, reminds someone to check in on a friend, or raises some money to help Movember continue its work, then we've accomplished something much bigger than building another RC car.

We're RC guys helping RC guys.

And this one is for all of us.

Every donation of $25 or more ($50=2, $75=3, $100=4) to this Mo Space page directly on movember.com enters you into a sweepstakes to win this Custom one of a kind Movember branded Remote Control Car built by Travis Amezcua and Dan McDade. Donate between August 13th and September 18th. Winner will be drawn on September 19th and notified by September 19th. Refer to terms and conditions for exact details.

*All proceeds will support Movember and help fund groundbreaking research and programs in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

This one means a little more.

If you've followed DragonPunch RC for a while, you probably know that Movember and men's health have been part of our story since the beginning.

There's a reason for that. Dan lost lost his dad to prostate cancer in 2018. He went from undiagnosed to gone in just 10 months. That experience is a big part of why we started DPRC and why giving back through Movember has always been part of what we do.

When Travis and Dan started talking about doing something bigger together this year, they quickly realized there was another connection between them, their dads. Travis lost his dad as well last November, and as you can see he's carrying a piece of him into this build. The paint scheme brings together Travis's colors, his dad's colors and a touch of white for Movember.

For all of us, this one is personal. Because this is bigger than RC.
