Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

Hello my friends,

Movember...the Sequel

It is officially November and I will be raising money for men's health initiatives, including but not limited to testicular and prostate cancer prevention.

As this is a SEQUEL to my 2020 Movember, it will be by comparison inferior to the orignal (and shorter). Here are three rules I found about sequels that I will try to adhere to for Movember:

Rule 1--Re-establish
"The first thing you have to keep in mind with a sequel is that there are going to be people who have never heard of or seen the original"

--In 2020, after posing as 21 different mustachioed celebrities, we managed to raise $3,200. Well, we’re back for more this year. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...

Rule 2--The Same, Only Different
"The vast majority of sequels are built to deliver exactly what audiences loved in the first place."

--Same deal as last time, there will be new celebrities, but likely less well known. You can only Tom Selleck once in your life.

Rule 3--Dare to Dream
"Even when it comes to follow-ups to big hits, there’s a lot that can go wrong. Just do your best".

--I'll do my best to post 15 celebrities.

Honestly, I am not a fan of Austin Richard Post’s music, but during the pandemic he did something that I will always respect.

Post Malone put on a dress, invited three of his friends over and covered Nirvana on YouTube for around 70 minutes, raising over $7 million for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the WHO

I know I’m supposed to start clean shaven for Movember, but I’m taking non-traditional cues from Post and including this one to start me off.

Harry

Harry Edward Styles appears to have accepted a new band mate…his music is regrettably moving in One Direction.

I’m not a huge fan of Harry (#TeamPine) and I chose him after looking up “famous people with wispy mustaches” and the rest is Movember history.

You know what else is a strange thing? Putting on a wig during your lunch break so that you can take like 100 photos in the hope that one or two vaguely resemble a celebrity (if that celebrity fell on hard times) to raise money for men's health awareness.

We lost the great Taylor Hawkins this year, drummer of the incomparable Foo Fighters. This was the best concert I ever attended and Dave Growl may be the last rock star.

Many know Elvio Fernandes as the keyboardist for the rock band Daughtry and as an accomplished songwriter, musician, and recording engineer. Some of us know Elvio as a great soccer player and a great person.
