In 2003 two friends in Australia, Travis and Luke, started Movember as a laugh. The next year they brought on this guy Adam and decided to raise money for charity. That year they raised $40,000 for a prostate cancer research fund! Amazing. They have since raised well over a billion dollars and donated to over 1,000 men's health projects. How friggin' cool?

They're going after the big three... suicide, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Every 60 seconds there are 60 men who end their own life globally. Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men over 45. Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in young men and is very treatable if caught early enough. So Movember is out here funding research projects and spreading awareness about these issues that men all over the world face.

This year for Movember I'm going to accomplish a few things and with your help, raise some money and spread awareness for Men's Health. Here's a little bit of my goals for the next few weeks.

1. First and foremost, I wanna raise $1,000 for Movember
2. Run 60 miles for the 60 men that take their life every hour.
3. Train for and run in the 2024 Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving
4. Donning a mustache through the month of Movember and talking about the Movement.

5. I've created a Mo Team on the Movember site. We're the "Valpo Mo Bros". If I could get another 4 people to help raise money and run the Turkey Trot, that would be incredible. Movember encourages teams getting together to do some sort of event, so that is definitely on the table. Thinking bowling, hiking at the dunes, running the Turkey Trot together, going to the barber and getting our mustaches shaved lol... that sorta stuff.
