Our Health shouldn't be a thing that's only thought about when things aren't great...
As Men, more often than not, we can put off getting checked out when somethings not quiet right, when we don't feel like ourselves.
At the beginning of 2026 I hit a metaphorical wall. A combination of all the things that we encounter as middle aged men had started to stack up.
Trying to be a 'good' dad, partner, friend, son, grandson and colleague, it started to take its toll. And in that moment, I felt lost, alone and that I wouldn't find my way back.
It was a scary place. A place where I thought I was the only one. A place where I thought I was broken and needed to be fixed.
I'd been here before, many years previous, but for different reasons and not to this extent and it was actually something forgotten about or perhaps chosen to bury, until I started to talk openly about it.
Through all this though, there is positives to take. One is to share this experience with other men so they know they are not alone, they are not the only ones and that suffering in silence is not the answer.
I don't want anyone to ever feel alone in those moments when you're struggling with the fear, the anxiety, the shame and hopelessness.
That's why it is important to share our stories and support charities like the Movember Campaign so we and they can continue to spread awareness about Mens health and the support available in times of need.
So, join me and grow a Mo, to show a bro, that Mens health matters!!
