My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer

this is for my dad, and your dad.

In 2019, six years after beating prostate cancer, my dad got his melanoma diagnosis. Every November since then I've shaved my face to grow a cancer-fighting mustache. And Jungle John is still with us. Swinging golf clubs and solving Wordle and riding his bike into Steveston to buy salmon right off a fishing boat. Which means that we're on a winning streak!

And as you all know, when you're on a winning streak you gotta stick with what works. And so, like the pitcher who eats Popeye's chicken before every start or the goalie who hasn't washed his pads in 17 weeks, I'm gonna ignore the complaints from my wife and kids and grow another mo for 2025.

When someone you love is in trouble the thing you want most is to be able to help, but I’m not a doctor or a researcher or a superhero so all I can do is grow this mustache. I know that sounds ridiculous and I know my lip caterpillar can’t save my dad from cancer. But maybe it can help to save your dad. Or your brother. Or your partner or your friend or your enemy or your ex-boyfriend or roommate or teammate or drummer or neighbor or son or nephew or cousin or that cute guy you always see at the taco stand. That’s what Movember does. Their mission is to stop men from dying too young. So please think about supporting this amazing, caring, hirsute organization.

And call your dad already. He misses you.
