In recent years, mental health has become a hot topic of conversation. There seems to be multiple theories on how best to treat and heal people that are struggling. However, I feel one crucial detail that is often overlooked is the difference between how men and women handle mental health challenges and how best to approach them.

Recently, the conversation around men’s mental health has become more prevalent. However, I still feel more awareness could be brought to the issue. In 2023, the CDC noted that in the US, men made up nearly 80% of the total suicides. Clearly, there needs to be more effort in figuring out what is causing this and how best to approach helping men who are struggling.

My ultimate goal is to climb Mt. Everest in 2026. This initial fundraising campaign is to raise money while I train to climb Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world, in September 2025. The summit is at 26,781 feet above sea level, hence the goal of $2,678. I will run 1 mile for every $10 raised each week. The more money raised in a week, the more I will run the following week. To be clear, ALL of the proceeds will be going to Movember to support men’s mental health. I will be personally financing the expedition myself.
