My motivation

I'm raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives. I need your help. Please donate to support men's health.

"I've lived, officially, with mental health issues for the last 20 years. I'm diagnosed Bipolar and have been at the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I'll be honest. There have been days when I wish it would just go away. Then there are other days when I accept it and how it is just part of me!

I've thought of giving in and leaving this mortal coil several times, but I've never taken that step. Sadly, a lot of people have and a higher percentage of those people are male. I've learnt to talk and acknowledge that it's OK to not be OK.

How did I do I manage that, you ask? Well, I take my pills every day, like a good boy, but this only helps a bit. What really helps me is the understanding and supportive family I have around me. They know when I'm not OK and of course they know when I'm great! I've got 2 amazing kids and a very understanding fiancèe. My mum and sister get me and know when I need a call, they live 3 hours away!

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm one of the lucky ones. I have all of the above and a banging record collection that fixes me nearly every time. I'm living with mental health issues and surviving most of the time!

I'm doing this challenge for those dudes out there who don't have the support network that I have.

I'm doing this for those dudes that don't have someone a phone call away that can talk them down and sort them out.

I'm doing this for those dudes that have been failed by the NHS Mental Health Services! (Not their fault!! But that's a whole other issue!)

I'm doing this for those dudes who need help and a place to go to improve their wellbeing and get some head space.

I'm doing this for those working dads out their who spend most of their time at work making money to support their families that don't have the chance to get the help before it's too late and they do something silly.

I'm doing this to help dudes out there who have suffered with their health in any way. Whether that be cancer, diabetes, CFS, stroke, heart failure, eating disorders, or anything else that has left them feeling alone!

Let's change this!

So...

I'm gonna grow a moustache. With your kind help and support, I'm hopefully going to raise some cash by growing that tache. I'm gonna look daft, and my kids won't recognise me come the 1st November 2024 (I have a full beard, and I haven't had a clean shave since they were born!)

But if me looking silly for a month or so can help just one guy out there, rethink or reach out and get the help they need, it'll all be worth it!

I know money is tight, but please give what you can and remember:

"With great moustache comes great responsibility!"

(Copy and paste that! It's funny!)

That's my story, let's change some others!"

Cheers,

RL

I'm diagnosed Bipolar! I am growing this mighty mistake on my top lip to get my fellow struggling dude-bros the support and help they need before they make a silly move. Please help. Please donate and save a life! I'll keep growing this soup strainer to raise some Bahraini dinar (it's a currency, look it up) to help dudes survive their struggles!
