Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

Mental health, prostate cancer and suicide are all things I have experienced within my life time and they are some major issues world wide. My father struggles with dementia and other mental health issues. I am a recovering alcoholic who drank daily for 27 years to try and cope with my mental health only to realize in the end that alcohol is part of the reason I had tried to take my own life on multiple occasions. Now I deal with depression and anxiety.

We need to work together and as men we need to learn and accept that it's okay to not be okay.

Every day a man asks his male friend how he is doing, and every day that friend replies with the famous phrase "I am okay" but in reality that friend actually has demons he is battling in his own mind.

Men do this because we always feel like we are supposed to bottle our demons and fight our mental health on our own and hide it from the world. Things like this eventually lead to potential suicide or deeper issues. We need to be strong and raise awareness for this cause.
