My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention
Prostate cancer

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

I've spent over 4 years being unable to exercise properly without excruciating pain waiting for an operation of which I have recently had, this has meant I've become extremely unhealthy and unfit. I've played Rugby once since Covid and even that was a real struggle (even more than when I was actually fit). It's really important to me to get back and play a few games of Rugby before I get too old, I've massively missed it. When I left the Armed Forces after 6 years I felt like I was completely on my own, I didn't have too many friends in the area. I had a lot of spare time on my own in my flat, money was difficult, my relationships were difficult and I ultimately felt like I didn't have much of a reason to be around. If it wasn't for joining Devizes Rugby club and playing a few seasons for them from 2016 to 2020 I'm unsure where I'd be. The power of sport is incredible, I love the competitiveness, the banter amongst the lads and the social aspect of it all. Not taking part in that has affected me massively.

Suicide isn't something I've felt like I've been close to but it's something that has affected me personally in recent years and I've known of lads from my military career who aren't around anymore who have taken their own life.

Cancer has also been a large part of my life losing family members to various different types, there is always someone you know who is in that battle and the more we can do the better.

So the challenge is pretty simple, run 5k per day or complete 150km worth of running via Strava for the month of November and try and grow a honking moustache which my partner Emma will absolutely adore.

Disclaimer, if I don't complete this. I'll donate £1,000 to charity on top of what I manage to raise.
