Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

In November 2021 we tragically lost a great friend in Jonny Young. He left his mark on so many of us who will remember him as an adventurous, funny and kind man who left us far too soon.

His passing left me to consider my own struggles and life choices and I decided I would set myself a personal challenge to complete in his memory. So, I started hiking. Starting from struggling to walk 3-4 miles without getting out of breath, I've now completed a number of long distance trails in the UK this year in preparation for this challenge.

In 2024 I will be hiking from Georgia to Maine, along the 2200 mile Appalachian Trail. Starting in February, carrying everything I should need on my back, this should take around 6 months.

I'm proud to have called Jonny my friend and it'll be an honour to raise money in his name on this adventure.

Well. I did it. It's been a few months since I finished and I've returned to the 'real' world but I think I'm still processing the whole experience. It's been incredible to see the amount of support I've received and I wanted to again say thank you to everyone who donated, I am truly grateful and blown away by people's generosity.

Hi Jimmy - John Armstrong here from Crosby scouts. Your dad has been telling me all about it - and I watched your gear video - great effort and such a worthwhile cause. I'm very jealous, although my dream is the PCT! Best Wishes, John.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. I'm overwhelmed with the support that's been shown, I'm incredibly grateful to all of you.

Combined with last year's donations, I've now hit my initial target of £2200 raised with around 120 miles left before reaching Katahdin.

Thank you all again.
