My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

It is 10 years since my last Mo so thought it was again time to show my support for Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, men’s mental health and suicide again.

My last Mo in 2012 came shortly after my Dad (Simmy) was diagnosed with prostate cancer. At the time he was fit and healthy. During a routine appointment he casually asked if the blood tests being taken would check for prostrate cancer. The nurse agreed to do the relevant tests, which were followed quickly by a biopsy and a shocking diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostrate cancer.

10 years on, with the help of our fantastic NHS, and a good dose of hormone and radiotherapy, he is still fit and healthy and will celebrate his 79th birthday this week on a cruise ship somewhere off the Canary Islands. He spends less of his time driving tractors now and more time enjoying holidays, cruises and visiting grandchildren. I even had him on the chainsaw cutting down trees in my garden on a recent visit to ours!

That is my story and the reason for the Mo. If you haven't donated to the Movember cause this year, please do so on this page, it's all for such a great cause.

And even more importantly, if you are of that age or have any health concerns whatsoever, please see a doctor for a check up and make sure you are getting tested. I do. If Simmy had not asked during that appointment in 2012, I fear those trees in my garden would still be standing.

Thankyou very much for reading, and for your support.
