My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

The first funeral I attended was for someone who took their own life. A young man whose kindness and passions were dulled and ultimately silenced by problems with his own mental health. I have feared for friends who have been down, that they may think suicide is their only option. I have been told that I was part of the reason someone did not take their own life. Bittersweet as I never knew they felt low let alone suicidal. Suicide surrounds me but what hurts me the most is that there are many many people out there who will never talk about how they feel because that's just not how they communicate best. It's not always about sitting down with someone and having a conversation. I want others to be able to express themselves in a way which is right for them, to feel encouraged to do that, whatever form that takes. And the more support we can give everyone who is trying to make a difference, the more creative approaches to starting a dialogue will appear.

Not gonna lie, I cried a lot on the inside and a little bit on the outside when I saw my beard on the floor... But that's OK because it's cool to cry and also I'm doing my little bit to help raise money for projects that interact with men's mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. These funds means that organisations and research can move forward and provide greater support for all affected by the above.
